Narrated from Ibn Umar the Prophet (PBUH) mentioned about Ramadhan and showed His hands and said: “(Days in) a month is this, this, and this (while showing His ten fingers twice, and on the third He folded His thumb). Therefore (start) fast upon seeing (the moon), and break your fast upon seeing (the new moon). And if (the new moon) obscured from you then count (the day of the month) to 30 days”… [sunnah Muslim]
Based on the above sunnah, representatives from Masjid Baitussalam conducted moon sighting on Thursday 14 June 2018. The crescent was not sighhted in Adelaide, which was also confirmed with representatives from other masjid in capital cities of Australia.
